Office of the Vice-rector for Arts and Science

It is the task of the Vice-rector for Arts and Science not only to develop these two fields independently of each other but also to merge them and to make them perceptible on a national and on a European level. The Vice-rector is responsible for strategic processes for the development and unfolding of the arts as well as for academic research, e.g. to raise research funds, to develop third-party projects, to implement a QM system in the fields of research and development and unfolding of the arts, promotion of the young generation of artists and scholars, and representation of KUG in the “Forum Forschung” and several other bodies.

As stipulated in the University Act for universities of music and performing arts, KUG has a strong commitment not only with regard to the development and unfolding of the arts but also to academic research. The academic advisor of the vice-rector for arts and science supports the vice-rector in order to realize the strategic processes aiming at the development and unfolding of the arts and at academic research including planning and organization of various events, creating the newsletter “Kunst & Wissenschaft”, research service, development of third-party projects, project monitoring and controlling, management of research grants, representation of KUG in the pressure group “ARGE Forschungsförderung”, in the FFA jury and in several other bodies.
