Staff Development

The Staff Development department at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz supports the professional, specialist, social and health-related development of university staff, taking into account the university’s objectives and strategy and individual stakeholders’ needs. As a service and competence centre, our department asks what staff members need in order to perform their duties at the university effectively and enthusiastically, today and in the future.

The Staff Development department’s main duties include

  • developing, planning and implementing need-based, targeted processes and measures for staff members, teams and organisational units
  • health management for staff members, including planning, organising and implementing health-promotion measures
  • assisting professors, junior researchers, artists, administrative partners and their partners through the Dual Career Service
  • helping staff members to reconcile their career with care obligations

The Staff Development department offers wide-ranging internal professional development programmes for all employees and target groups, as well as special services for managers (i.e. workshops, training, coaching), equal opportunities training, the “KUG Compass” basic training course for new staff members, health-promoting measures focused on musicians’ health, plus services and advice related to reconciling career and care obligations.
